"ME? Write to my local newspaper?" The answer is YES! For years, our community newspapers have served as a "soapbox" of sorts for all kinds of opinions. Why not take advantage of the Letters to the Editor page, and voice your ideas about the budget cuts to your local schools? You will reach thousands of readers, and you'd be surprised how many people will agree with you. Recently, a 50th No More supporter wrote a Letter to the Editor of their local paper, and it resulted in a flood of letters that supported the importance of our public schools!

Some tips:

• Keep your letter to about 200 words
• Tie your letter to a recent article, or current events of the week
• Remember to include your full name, email and phone number - editors like to call you before they run your letter (they will only publish your name).

Grab your keyboard and let your voice be heard! You will be so proud to see your name in print! And just think of the support you are giving to your neighborhood schools!
